SPICED RUM HOT CHOCOLATE

The perfect winter warmer, with a bit of a kick. 

This will make 4 cups:

4 tsp Cocoa Powder
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
100 g Dark Chocolate (70% cocoa content)
500 ml Milk
Brown Sugar/Honey to taste
100ml Rum (NOT optional)
Marshmallows (optional)

 

METHOD

Pour the milk into a sauce pan and bring to the boil.

Reduce the heat, add the chocolate and cinnamon.

Stir constantly until the chocolate is melted.

Add cocoa powder, sugar and rum. Simmer for a further minute or two before turning of the heat.

Pour into mugs and top with an indecent amount of marshmallows/whipped cream/chocolate sauce…
